September findings compare combined deaths and injuries with a year earlier
The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine released findings on October 16 verifying at least 328 civilians killed and 2,105 injured during September 2026. Adding the published figures gives 2,433 deaths and injuries combined, compared with 1,317 in September 2025—a calculated increase of 84.7%, rounded to 85%. That percentage concerns deaths and injuries together, rather than deaths alone. These are verified minimums: the UN says limited access and a lack of independent information prevented confirmation of many reported incidents in Russian-occupied territory.
