The Philippines reported September annual inflation of 7.2% on October 6, compared with 6.1% in August. Reuters reported that the statistics agency attributed the acceleration to rice, electricity and other fuels, and transport. Annual core inflation, excluding volatile food and energy prices, reached 4.7%. The headline rate compares prices with September 2025; the calculated 1.1-percentage-point increase compares September’s inflation rate with August’s.
