Different custody outcomes follow October 16 detentions
Student leader Neha Bora was released early on October 17, while Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke remained in preventive custody, The New Indian Express reported. Both had been detained ahead of an October 16 protest in central Delhi. Bora’s detention formalities had been completed; Dipke was expected to appear before a Special Executive Magistrate. The report does not establish the outcome of that appearance. Protesters allege voter-list revisions favour the ruling BJP; the Election Commission denies favouring any party.
