All 43 crew members safe; separate sinking concerns a September strike
Singapore’s maritime authority reported October 14 that container ship GFS Pride had sunk following a projectile strike, while GFS Giselle reached safe anchorage with hull damage. The vessels were struck October 13 and 14 respectively, in Singapore time. All 43 crew members were safe, with no injuries reported. Separately, Reuters reported that bulk carrier Cape Dao had sunk, citing International Maritime Organization data; that vessel was struck September 23. The accounts therefore concern three different vessels, and Cape Dao’s newly reported sinking does not establish a new strike. Singapore described the projectiles as unknown and did not identify responsibility.
