Meeting reported; no military agreement disclosed

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during an unannounced visit to Israel on October 19, Reuters reported, citing Axios. CBS subsequently cited a U.S. military official and a source in Israel in its own account of the meeting. Reuters relayed Axios rather than independently confirming the visit. The meeting comes ahead of Israel's October 27 parliamentary election. The cited reports disclose no agreement to resume military operations against Iran.
