Recent casualty figures cover two weeks; cumulative total spans over a year
UNICEF said on October 16 that seven children were reported killed and at least 33 seriously injured in Gaza during the preceding two weeks. Two other children died from earlier injuries. Its cumulative figure of more than 340 reported child deaths covers the period since the ceasefire announcement a little over a year earlier. The agency also warned that winter rain could cause wastewater to overflow from the half-full Sheikh Radwan basin into downstream residential areas.
