Preliminary activity reading rises as costs increase
The preliminary eurozone composite purchasing managers’ index rose to 53.1 in September from 52.0 in August, Reuters reported. New orders increased, while firms reported faster growth in operating costs. A reading above 50 indicates expanding activity. This early survey is not a final measure of economic output or a measure of consumer inflation.
