Appeals court declines to block the military-contracting restriction
A federal appeals court declined to block the Defense Department’s designation of Anthropic as a national-security supply-chain risk, leaving the company excluded from military contracts. Anthropic said the designation has caused substantial lost business and reputational damage, and that it is considering further judicial review. The decision is separate from an August federal ruling that invalidated a parallel designation issued under a different law; that earlier judgment therefore did not automatically remove the Pentagon restriction considered here.
