Challenge announced; electoral-court president affirms result
Flávio Bolsonaro said he would seek annulment of Brazil’s October 25 presidential runoff following Lula’s victory, AFP reported. He cited the judicial decision extending voting by two hours. AFP also reported that Bolsonaro had requested an extension in some regions. Separately, Folha reported that electoral-court president Kassio Nunes Marques affirmed Lula’s victory and said the extension had not altered vote tabulation. These reports establish an announced intention to challenge the result, without confirming a filed petition or an annulment ruling. The timestamp records AFP’s publication, not when Bolsonaro spoke.
