Amazon cuts off Muse after asking Meta to exclude its store
Amazon blocked Meta’s Muse AI agent from browsing and purchasing on Amazon.com after unsuccessfully asking Meta to remove the store from Muse’s shopping options. Amazon says Muse does not identify itself while browsing and that third-party purchasing agents should disclose their operation and respect merchants’ participation decisions. Meta has said Muse cannot see users’ passwords or payment methods; credentials are kept in secure storage. The dispute demonstrates a practical constraint on general-purpose consumer agents: their capabilities depend partly on whether outside services permit automated access.
